Hi I'm Sparrow!  I'm a sweet little lady who came from Arkansas with my little babies.  I was a great mama, but those days are behind me and I'm ready to be spoiled now.  I'd consider myself to be a gentle and pretty calm lady. I have a friendly tail wag ready for anyone who gets down to my level.  I'll quietly walk over and accept their friendly pets while giving my best puppy dog eyes.  I like men, women and kids equally so I'll be great in any home.  In my home I like to follow my foster mama around.  Sometimes doing that gets you treats and I can say I'm really gentle about taking them.  That's how you get more haha!  I love naps and will happily snooze in the recliner, on the couch or my favorite in your bed!  Mom says when I'm super tired I sometimes quietly snore.  I don't believe it because a lady doesn't snore!  I haven't had any interest in toys yet, but I have begun to enjoy tendon chews.  I also love to bask in the sun and roll in the grass just enjoying life.  If you're looking for a lap dog or snuggles I can happily do that too.  If you have kids in sports I'd gladly sit in your lap on the sidelines while we cheer them on.  When they're all done I'll walk nicely to the car, no matter how far away we park, and sit quietly in the car for the ride home.  Maybe we could stop for a pup cup though?  I'm a good girl in my kennel, but I will fuss a bit when you leave me.  I don't know why you'd want to go somewhere without me.  That just seems silly to me.  I do ok with other dogs, but I do prefer ones that are calm and that will basically ignore me and let me do my own thing.  I'd be happy to be an only dog too so you can just spoil me with all your love.  If you're looking for a small scruffy girl who will greet you at the end of the day with excited jumps and then leans into you for hugs, is a great listener and who will love you unconditionally then I just might be the girl for you!
 
Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a     particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
