Hello, I’m Hunter, a dapper and quiet adult male German/Australian Shepherd mix who is the sweetest pup in the neighborhood. Not only am I not picky about my treats but I will do anything to get one (hint, hint) and have been known to show off my best puppy-dog eyes in the hopes that my people with share some of their scrumptious goodies with me. Now, as much as I love treats, I love nothing more than being with my people wherever they go!! Sure, I enjoy playing with stuffed toys, but love and affection is what REALLY gets my tail waggin’! Everything from pets, belly rubs, head scratches, and cuddles are like magical elixirs that transform my whole day!! In fact, I melt into a puddle of joy when I’m showered with my human’s love! Yes, I may weigh 55 pounds but it’s 55 pounds of pure, nonjudgmental, unconditional love that in no way stops me from climbing right up into my person’s lap for a nice long snooze or to watch some TV! Food I am currently thriving on is Nature’s Logic Distinction.
When I’m not cuddling, I enjoy going on leashed walks with my family and exploring this beautiful world. From the park to the lake shore, every new sight and smell fills me with excitement! My foster mom is happy to report I am doing an excellent job with exclusively going potty outside. I am still working on learning commands like “sit”, “stay”, & “come”, but I’m a smart, well-mannered boy who is not only kennel/crate trained but I’m eager to learn more! Oh yeah, I almost forgot…remember when I said I’m the “sweetest pup in the neighborhood? Well, it’s totally true! I am a popular social butterfly who is a master of making friends! I’m good with kids, always respectful of cats, and great with dogs of all sizes. The truth is, I believe that life is all about spreading joy and happiness, and I’ve found that my friendly ‘woofs’ seem to make everyone feel welcome to enter my circle.
There you have it, I'm Hunter, the tail-waggin’, affection-loving, treat-adoring, adventure-seeking, friendship-making expert who is simply looking for patience and unconditional love from a fur-ever family that promises to NEVER give up on me! ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
