Hi I'm Gizmo!  I'm a handsome boy who is just sweet as can be!  I can be a bit shy with new people, but give me some scratches and belly rubs and we'll soon be besties! Most of the time I'm a pretty chill guy.  I like to watch the goings on in my home and will follow my foster mama around while I explore.  I have the softest fur that you won't be able to resist running your fingers through. My happy smile will make you smile back. You won't be able to help yourself!  I'm learning about all the doggie basics in home right now.  Toys and bones seem cool.  I'm sure I'll be playing with them like a pro soon.  Potty training is going well and I've got the kennel training mastered. I do great with all dogs.  I haven't met any kids or kitties, but my foster mama thinks I'd be fine with both since I'm pretty go with the flow. I do require some eye meds each day which is pretty typical for my breed and dry eye.  Don't worry I'm a pro at getting them too.  I hold still so you can put them in and then I can go about my day again haha! I haven't had a lot of leash walking experience yet, but I know I'll be a great at it with some more practice.  I'll keep practicing while I wait for you to find me and take me home forever.

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
