Hello, my name is Enzo. I am a very handsome adult male Brussels Griffon who likes to play with tennis balls & plush squeaky toys, eat food/treats, sleep in bed with mom, nap in the sun, and stay close to foster mom and my resident fur sib. In fact, I take queues and have learned a lot from my fur sib, like how to patiently handle grooming & nail trims (lol), so I will need a companion at my new home too.

I am usually quiet, but I will bark if I need to go outside, I’m hungry, or I hear a strange noise. I am still fearful of younger children, commotion, and loud noises but I have really come a long way since being with foster mom. I mean, not only have I started greeting people/strangers at the door, but I will accept pets from most people too. I am a super smart guy who not only knows commands like “down”, “stay”, “kennel/crate”, “leave it”, and “go potty” but I do my business outside, and I’m kennel/crate trained. I do, however, need more leash experience because my body freezes whenever mom puts it on me so I will need a fenced yard.

Since coming to live with foster mom, I have become more confident and relaxed, I even like to be held although I submissively roll over when she reaches to pick me up. All I need now is a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever home with a family that will NEVER give up on me. Will YOU please be my new family? I promise I’m worth it and I will love you more than life itself!! Love, Enzo

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.

**Grooming - this dog's coat may have been neglected before arriving at Underdog and it can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as poodles and poodle mixes require daily brushing.  Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average of $100 per appointment. Adopters should be prepared for such expenses. Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
