Hello, my name is Spanky. I am a loving, loyal, and high-energy young adult male English/Bluetick Coonhound mix who is always eager to please my people. I love to cuddle on the couch, run laps/zoomies in the yard, chew on hard bones/antlers, play with cloth/squeaky toys, say hello to strangers passing by, go for leashed walks, and go car rides where I can quietly watch the world pass me by. Hee, hee!! I am a playfully silly boy who frequently runs into things, so I like to think of myself as clumsily athletic!! Hee, hee!!
I am potty, crate, and leash trained, but I pull on the leash a LOT and I would love to have a fenced yard to explore but if that’s not possible, my new family will need to be strong enough to hold onto me. I don’t like loud noise or a lot of commotion but I’m good with kids who are respectful of my space. I am curious about everything but I’m timid and slow to trust when it comes to meeting new people. That said, I’m always watching and learning so each day I am becoming more confident! I have a bit of a prey drive so I should only be around dog-savvy cats if any, but I am good with other dogs. I am also super smart and know a bunch of commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “wait”, “leave it”, “quiet”, and “outside”.
All I need now is YOU…a patient family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me! I promise that I am totally worth it, and I will let you give me belly rubs anytime you want! Love & snuggles, Spanky

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
