Hello, my name is Jericho. I am a young and usually quiet adult male Terrier mix who is fearful/skittish of children, loud noises, a lot of commotion, new places/people, and quick movements. In fact, I used to be a fear biter, but my foster family has helped me learn to accept attention and pets…I especially enjoy butt rubs and having my hair brushed. I am even a great snuggler and when I’m not cuddling with dad on the couch, I enjoy cozying up in the bed with my foster fam including my Dachshund buddy Baxter. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I love playing with toys too and am an expert at ripping the squeaker and stuffing out of them! Hee, hee!!
I am still getting comfortable with leash training, but I have made great progress and am now a really good walker. That said, getting my harness and leash on is still a bit stressful for me but I tolerate it because I LOVE going on walks and sniffing everything! Hee, hee!! So, you can see that I am trying extremely hard to overcome my fears and although it has been very tough, I’m not giving up!! I just need a family who is respectful of my boundaries and WILL continue my training once I get to my new home.
Anyway, I have not met any cats, but I LOVE to wrestle, play, do zoomies, and run, run, run with other doggies so I will need a companion and a fenced yard at my new home. Not only do I enjoy playing with my canine buddies, but I also look to them for guidance and hope they will help me overcome my fears. I am potty and crate trained but mom and dad rarely put me in the kennel anymore because I’m not destructive and the more I’m with my people the quicker I will learn to trust them.
All I really need now is YOU…a patient fur-ever family who promises to love me unconditionally and NEVER given up on me. So, if you’re looking for an amazing cuddle companion who will be your best friend for life, then I you’ve just met your perfect match! ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
