Hello, my name is Cosmo. I am a very sweet adult male Havanese who loves a wide range of treats! Hint, hint!! I also enjoy running around/exploring a securely fenced yard, saying hello to the strangers that pass by the house, snuggling with my family, and giving them lots of kisses!! Hee, hee!!
I don’t like loud noises and I’m slow to warm up to new people but once I do, I’m the best snuggler EVER! I have not met any cats, kids, or larger dogs but I’m good with smaller dogs like me. I know what “outside” and “go potty mean; I am still working on potty training; and I’m ok in the kennel/crate for short periods, but I don’t have any leash experience so my new yard will need to be fenced.
I need to be adopted with my friend Dolly. She is a very shy Havanese that needs me to help her learn to trust people and be comfortable. We are a package deal and hope you can find it in your heart to keep us together.
I am a very loving boy who is looking for unconditional love, stability, and patience in my own fur-ever home possibly with a canine companion. I promise, I will NEVER give up on you and all I ask is for the same in return! I assure you I’m totally worth it and I will love you bigger than the universe!! Love, Cosmo
*Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
