Hello, I’m Juno, a beautiful young adult female Rat Terrier with the most gorgeous brown eyes EVER! I am generally calm and unphased by my surroundings which makes me a great adventurer…unless of course, there’s a rodent (or cat) lurking nearby! Hee, hee!! Hunting after all, is in my DNA! Now, I may enjoy hunting prey, but I am very loyal to my people. In fact, although I’ve not met any kids, one of my favorite activities is following my people around so I can keep a close eye on what they’re doing. That said, I also enjoy chewing on bones; going on leashed walks; socializing with my doggie pals at the park; partaking in treats like pup-cups (YUMM); and figuring out treat dispensers, puzzle toys, & snuffle matts! Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to mention how great I am in the kitchen…whenever foster mom is cooking, not only am I always there to supervise and support her nutritional decisions, but I help clean up whatever she spills! Honestly, I don’t know how she ever kept the kitchen floor clean without me!! Hee, hee!!

I am potty, crate, and leash trained, and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, “leave it”, and “go potty”. Although I quickly warmed up to my foster fur sister and we’ve forged such a great friendship that we will often snuggle together, whenever she or one of my other fur sibs is getting attention, I want some too. So, as great as it is having a snuggle buddy, I don’t think I’d mind being an only dog, that way I can hoard all the loves and affection! Hee, hee!!

Anyway, I am a very sweet and loving girl, but I must admit that I’m a little sad…why you ask? Well, you see, I don’t know how to play fetch and I really think it would be a great way for me to get exercise and exert some of my pent-up energy. So, in addition to looking for a fur-ever home with a patient family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me, I’m hoping to find an active family who is willing to teach me how to fetch and play other games. I promise I am worth it, and our life together will be more rewarding than you could ever imagine! Love, Juno

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
