Hi! I am new here and hoping to find the perfect family for me! I had a rough start to life and that has caused me to be very cautious with my surroundings. I am definitely warming up to my foster family but it will take some time and a lot of patience for me to really open up! My foster family is the best and taking it very slow with me, which has helped me build some trust with humans!
My most favorite thing ever currently is my doggie foster brother! When he is around, I come out of my shell more and want to play with him! Having another furry companion is really important for me, as it will help my confidence and trust! It would be best if that other dog is not a puppy and has a calm greeting with new dogs. I have been startled by poodles but have been curious about other dogs that I have seen.
As I continue to work on my confidence, my crate is my safe space. I feel secure when I have that around, knowing I can go in there to calm down when I get overwhelmed. My foster parents are working so hard with me so that I am comfortable in a home! With that in mind, they are moving at my pace, so I have not been out on a leash very often. I will need some work on my leash skills but that will come along as I come out of my shell and explore more.
I have already shown my sweet side to my foster family! I give gentle face kisses and am warming up to getting some good scatchies! I will get caught playing with my doggie foster brother and get very excited when I see him. I am continually working on showing my true self and learning that I am safe and loved now! Can’t wait to meet my furever family!
