Hello, my name is Adele. I a stunning and friendly young adult female Standard Poodle with the most beautiful brown eyes that will melt the coldest hearts! I am also a ‘Super Snuggler’ who loves being the center of attention and getting LOTS of affection once my people have earned my trust!! I love gnawing on marrow bones, Kongs and anything else I can try to destroy. LOL! Yes, it’s true, I tend to chew things to bits, so durable toys intended to be chewed are a must! I also love peanut butter; gazing out the window & saying hello to all the strangers I see outside; napping after a good long exercise session; and getting belly rubs!

I have a high prey drive so cats are not a good fit for me, and I don’t like a lot of commotion but I’m good with kids and other dogs. In fact, I have such a blast playing with my resident fur sib that I would love to have a companion at my new home too and a fenced yard in which to play. That said, I do like to be the center of attention and can get a bit non-aggressively jealous sometimes, so I think I’d be ok as an only dog in the home too! I am an active, high-energy girl who needs a lot of exercise like going on long walks through the neighborhood and running in the yard so my new family will need to be an active one that can keep up with me! Hee, hee!! I am incredibly smart and learn things quickly. I know what “sit” and “come” mean and I’m potty, crate, and leash trained. I’m a big girl however, who likes to pull on the leash so my family will need to be strong enough to handle me on our walks…especially if I see a squirrel or bunny…you know… ‘prey’! Hee, hee!! I should mention that I have a bit of separation anxiety so I would prefer a home with a family who can be with me most of the time and/or can take me with them.

All I need now is a fur-ever home with an active and patient family who will not only love me unconditionally but promises to NEVER give up on me! I am a goofy girl who loves to keep my people laughing and happy so if you’re ready to welcome some joy into your life then we are a perfect match! I assure you that I’m worth it and I will love you more than you could EVER imagine!! Love, Adele

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
