Hello, I’m Butler, a very handsome and energetic male spaniel chihuahua mix with an adorable overbite. Foster mom and dad call me ‘Buckey’ because of it but I don’t mind. In fact, I’ll come runnin’ when I hear it in the hopes they have a yummy treat like green beans, blueberries, or strawberries for me! YUU-UMM!! Speaking of eating, to prevent my fur sib from stealing my yummies, I eat in my kennel and according to mom, I eat lightning fast! Hee, hee!!
My favorite activities include following mom everywhere; supervising dad while he cooks; chewing on things like Nylabones, Kongs, rope toys, paper, and anything else I may find on the floor or on a table (hee, hee). Mom says my new family will need to keep an eye on me and my devious albeit very fun habits! LOL!! Anyway, I also enjoy gazing out the window on car rides; saying hello to passersby I see out the picture window; and I REALLY have a blast playing ‘rough-n-tumble’ and running the yard’s fence line with my resident fur sib so I will need a doggie companion and a fenced yard at my new home! Then, after I’ve worn myself out, I like taking a nice long nap!
I have not met any cats, and kids are not a good fit for me partly because I don’t like loud noises, but mom and dad are the best! They love me so much and are always giving me great neck & belly rubs so in return, I give them my AMAZING kisses and love nibbles. However, if mom says “No bite” to my love nibbles, I switch to kisses! Hee, hee!! You can see I’m very smart…now I may not have a lot of leash training but in addition to “no bite”, I know commands like “come”, “sit”, “go outside”, “up”, “down”, “treat”, and “kennel” and I am potty, and crate trained.
All I need now is the fur-ever home I SO richly deserve with a patient family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me. Are you ready for some excitement in your life? Have you dreamed of getting the ‘perfect’ kiss? Well, you need not look any further because you have just found your soul mate…let’s begin our life together as soon as possible!! ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
