Hi I'm Gandalf!  I'm a handsome guy who is friendly as can be!  I'm just positive that everyone I meet is a friend.  I came all the way to MN from Arkansas and the shelter there said I was a poodle c sheepdog, but maybe you can help me do a DNA test to confirm?
Sometimes I forget my manners and I will jump up for a hug. I just want to make sure you know I'm friendly and that you can reach me for those nice scratches!  I'm gentle when I do it, but I am working on keeping my feet on the floor.  I enjoy a good snuggle on the couch when it's time to relax.  If you have things to do I'll follow you around and then I'll grab a bone and go lay on the couch and chew on it once you stay in one place.  I'd love to have a home where my humans are home alot.  When I'm left alone I get sad and will bark for a bit.  Because of this I probably shouldn't have a home with shared walls.  I'm doing well on potty training and I always keep my kennel clean.  When I first go into my kennel I will bark for a bit, but then I settle down and will nap the day away.  I'm great with other dogs of all sizes, but can be an only dog too.  I love food so training will be easy.  Don't worry I take them very gently!  If you want a new best friend then you've come to the right place!

**Grooming - this dog's coat may have been neglected before arriving at Underdog and it can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as poodles and poodle mixes require daily brushing.  Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average of $150 per appointment. Adopters should be prepared for such expenses. Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.
 
Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. ADOPTION EVENTS:   

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
