Hi everyone! My name is Kris but I go by Luna here. I’ve gotten to know that while in my foster home and respond well to that. Although I’m not a puppy, I still have lots of puppy energy and still like to play like one.
I enjoy raw bones, treats, toys with squeakers and playing with my fur friends. Keep in mind, I’ve been known to eat the toys with squeakers, so make sure you catch me before I get it loose! Hee hee!
Overall, I’m a lover and will even sleep on my humans. Personal space? Consider that mine too. Hopefully my forever home has a me-size spot on the sofa next to you!
I’m still working on potty training but I do well with being crated. Car rides, new people and new places, I’m still a bit wary of but that’s OK, right?!
I do ask that you have a fenced yard for me to play in because I don’t have leashes figured out yet and although we can work on that for walks, I enjoy roaming around the yard to do my business and to play with my fur siblings (which I also need to have, so I can continue learning from them).
I’ve been working on my commands since I’ve been here. So far I know “sit, down, come and leave it”! Pretty cool, right?
All I need now is a forever home with patience, unconditional love and some snuggles! Hope to meet you soon!
**Grooming - this dog's coat may have been neglected before arriving at Underdog and it can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as poodles and poodle mixes require daily brushing. Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average of $150 per appointment. Adopters should be prepared for such expenses. Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.
Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
