Hello, my name is Yumi, that’s pronounced ‘You-me’… get it…YOU and ME, that’s our destiny! I am a tiny but spunky young adult female Pekepoo who is seeking a fur-ever family with snacks and lots of playtime!! I am a curious and loving little snuggle bug and I am always eager to be with and please my people. As a matter of fact, if my people are happy…I am happy!! Foster mom says my little underbite gives me the “most adorable expressions” and I think that makes her smile which is wonderful for me!
I do not like a lot of commotion, I am potty, and crate trained, I will even lightly paw at my kennel door in the morning to say I need go outside. I do not however, have a lot of leash experience so will need a fenced yard. Additionally, I love playing with my foster brother, a mini-Dachshund, so much that I want to have a small companion at my new home too. As for cats and kids, I am docile so I think I’d be ok with cats but due to my small size, kids would need to be extra considerate and very gentle.
I am still learning to trust humans, so I sometimes need to have a little alone time in a safe cozy spot like a bed or kennel/crate before I feel like mingling! Hee, hee!! In addition to playing with my foster brother, I enjoy playing with toys; being silly; listening to mom talk to me; checking in on her when she’s in the bathroom to ensure she’s ok…Safety first is what I always say; and finally, I enjoy bringing piles of toys to mom when she’s working to make sure that everyone in her Zoom meeting knows how many wonderful toys I have!! It must be said that I am always a hit!! I am treat-motivated…any kind of treats will do (hee, hee); I already know commands like “outside” and “go potty” but I love one-on-one time with my people and would enjoy taking a positive-reinforcement-style obedience class so we can bond…and get more treats of course! Hee, hee!!!
Anyway, I truly am a bundle of joyful energy, all I need now is YOU… a patient fur-ever family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me. I promise that if you welcome me into your world, I will love you SO much that you will feel like you’ve won the lottery!! Love, Yumi = YOU+ME

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
