Hi, my name is Heidi and I am a calm and happy maltese. I’m good with kids and other dog friendly dogs. My favorite thing to do is follow the other dogs in the house and my people around – I don’t want to miss anything! It makes me so happy to have a little friend that is just my size in my foster home that hope to have another dog friend in my forever home, but it isn't required.

I am happiest when I can sit back and watch what is going on in the world. I like to sit with my people and watch TV so hopefully you have a cozy spot on the couch next to you that is Heidi size! My favorite times of the day are breakfast time and dinner time – I am quick to get in line for my turn! I also like snack time – yummy in my tummy!

We are working on the important dog skills in my foster home. I am doing great with potty training on a consistent schedule and when I need to go I spin around to let you know. Also, I know what “go potty” means.  Pretty smart, right?  I am still learning what coming to my name means. And I am a very calm and quiet girl except when I am in my crate – I will tell you that I’m not happy (bark bark!!). I much prefer to be with my people and don’t know why they wouldn’t want to spend all their time with precious little me! My leash skills are coming along well and I won’t need to have a fenced yard if you promise to keep practicing with me.

I’m just a super sweet and easy girl who is patiently waiting for her forever family to come and take me home. All I need now is a forever family with lots of patience, love and a comfy spot to snooze. Can’t wait to meet you!

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.
