Hi – my name is Lionel and I am the most handsome cavalier you will ever meet! I am a puppy that is full of personality and spunk!

I am doing great with potty training on a schedule, but will need more practice in my forever home. If you keep me on a good schedule I am doing great. Crate training is a work in progress – I will let you know that I don’t enjoy being locked up (bark BARK!). If you have a shared wall with neighbors, I might not be a good fit for your home. Sometimes I am a little stinker and will run away if given the opportunity, so need a safely fenced yard. We are working hard on leash training and I will need more practice in my forever home. 

I am a smart boy and learning so many new things – I know when we go to puppy school together we will be a great team and maybe meet some new friends! I am already learning the words “sit” and “come” – but do need some practice. I would love to have another dog in my forever home. I am in a foster home now that has other dogs and I am thriving! They are helping me get on a routine, get used to all the things in the house and most of all having play mates has been wonderful! Having a social, friendly and confident dog is a good role model for me – it is helpful to see that they are not worried about everyday house noises and activities so I don’t need to worry either. Maybe someday I’ll learn from that that doorways aren’t so scary too!

Being a playful puppy is the best! I love chewing on bones, toys and ropes. I REALLY love cuddling! I love cuddles so much, that I will snuggle right up to you while we sleep.  If you’re not available, I’ll snuggle with the other dogs. 

All I need now is a forever home with lots of patience, unconditional love and a comfy spot next to you so we can snuggle!

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. ADOPTION EVENTS:   

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
