Dog Details

Hello, my name is Pecan. I am a beautiful and sweet adult female Pomeranian. I have a luxating patella in my left knee and possible arthritis in my right knee. In addition to continued monitoring I will not only need to be lifted on/off furniture but will need to keep my girlish figure in check with some regular low-impact exercise and a healthy diet. 

Anyway, I voice my displeasure if left alone or something alarms me; I don’t like commotion/loud noises like squeaky doors, vehicles driving down the street, or silverware clanking on dishes; and I get nervous in new places or around new people. However, despite my fears and knee issues, I am a cheerful, bouncing, bundle of energy who loves life!! My favorite activities include chewing on Himalayan yak sticks; finding my food in snuffle mats/food puzzles; prancing around with stolen socks (hee, hee); eating treats like cooked salmon, boiled chicken, cheese, Greek yogurt, and hotdogs; getting groomed; and following foster mom everywhere in the hopes she’ll hold me like a baby and give me belly rubs or simply let me snuggle in her lap! Truth is that mom finds it impossible to resist my adorableness especially when I wave my little hand for more tummy rubs! Hee, hee!!

I have not met any kids and due to my small size, I don’t think they’re a good fit for me, but I do enjoy playing with dog-savvy cats who won’t scratch or attack me, and other like-sized dogs. In fact, I need to have a doggie companion at my new home and since I don’t have much leash experience, a fenced yard would be great too! I am a smart little lady who knows what “sit” means and I’m working on “down” and “come”. I am also working on potty training, and I do well if I am on a consistent schedule. Luckily mom works from home and takes me out every few hours. That said, I do still dribble a bit if I’m excited and I ‘mark’ when exploring new rooms in the house or in a new place. Additionally, I go potty in my kennel/crate if I’m in there for more than a few hours. Therefore, I think it’s safe to say that my ideal fur-ever family will be home with me most of the time. Oh yeah, I almost forgot… although I will sleep in my kennel, I prefer to sleep in the bed with my human…I’m just sayin’!!

All I need now is the fur-ever home I SO richly deserve, with a patient family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me! I really am the sweetest girl ever and I would love to spend the rest of my life with YOU!! Love, Pecan
