Hello, my name is Chaco Taco. I am an adorable and loving adult male Havanese who is one happy, playfully goofy, and funny guy! I have not met any cats or kids, but I am great with people and other dogs. In fact, I really hope to have a canine playmate at my new home who will keep me company, so I don’t get a case of the lonley’s! Hee, hee!!
Anyway, I have no real interest in toys, but I have other favorite activities like exploring outside, going on leashed walks, rolling around on my back, relaxing with my thoughts, sleeping on the bed with my people and other dogs, eating food and treats, and being held and getting loves from my people!!! I do not like, and I will voice my discontent if I am left alone. I mean I am a VERY important part of the family, and I should be with everyone else…not to mention that I always like to be amid all the goings on around me!! Hee, hee!! I am a super smart boy too who is always eager to please! For example, I am crate trained and although I enjoy eating in there, I prefer to be out with the rest of the family once my dinner is complete. I also know my name and will “come” when mom calls me; I know how to navigate UP the stairs but recently mastered going DOWN them …both inside AND out (I am clearly a prodigy); I can jump on/off the furniture; I even know what “up” and “off” mean. You see, I am really good about doing my poo outside, but I haven’t quite grasped the not-marking thing yet. Therefore, mom has me wear protection in the house and since I’m so helpful and eager to please my people, when she says “Up” I put my front paws on her legs so she can get me “dressed” and when she’s done and says “Off”, I know I’m all good-to-go!! We are working on other commands right now, including "sit" and "stand".
I am such an amazingly loving little guy who is simply looking for a furever family who will show me patience, understanding, TONS of unconditional love and most importantly, will NEVER give up on me!! ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
