Hello, my name is Opal. I am a very beautiful female Bernedoodle puppy who is playful and a total love bug! Yes, I enjoy marrow bones, rope toys, squeaky toys, and lounging outside in the grass but what I REALLY love is lying on the couch or bed and being wherever foster mom is. In fact, when she and I are outside, and she drops the leash I stay right next to her and if we see another dog, I will jump on her so she can “protect” me! Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m great with other dogs but I prefer my people! I have not met any cats or kids but I don’t like a lot of commotion so I don’t know if I would like younger kids.
I do fine with the leash and enjoy going on walks, but I tire easily and will lay down a lot to let mom know I’m tired. However, she always gives me a lot of loving encouragement and that motivates me to get up and start moving again! I really love to run around so a nice yard would be wonderful but I’m ok with apartment life too if it means I have an unconditionally loving furever home…I have even overcome my ‘elevatophobia’…that’s a fear of elevators! Hee, hee!! That said, I do like to talk to other dogs and people when I see them outside but I’m really good about sitting down and patiently waiting for them to pass or I simply run to foster mom and jump in her arms for some lovin’. Ok, I will admit that if a dog starts running toward me, I submit and will lay on my back…I know, not my finest moments but when you’re a lover and not a fighter what more can one do??? As for potty training, I am still a puppy so it is a work in progress, but I am crate trained, although I may cry a bit when I first go in there! Hee, hee!!
Anyway, I loves me some cuddles and I am simply looking for a furever family who will shower me with love and NEVER give up on me! After all, MY love is forever so I expect my family’s to be as well!! Love, Opal
I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of e xperience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 – 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready!
**Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who had a past life as a breeder or stray and was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work!
**Grooming - this dog's coat may have been neglected before arriving at Underdog and it can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as poodles and poodle mixes require daily brushing. Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average of $150 per appointment. Adopters should be prepared for such expenses. Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.
