Hello, my name is Laurie and I am a very beautiful, sweet and shy female shih tzu. I am a polite girl and working on being brave with the people in my foster home. Other dogs are my preferred companions and I love to watch and learn from them, so another dog is required in my forever home. Having a friendly and social dog in my forever home will help me learn to trust people and teach me important things like how to snuggle, beg for treats and do happy dances (yahoo!)
I have several hobbies and one is spying on our neighbors from the window – hee hee! The other dogs started it and I like to join in the fun! I also like running around the backyard with the other dogs, sitting in the sun and rolling in the grass. Having the freedom to experience grass and a calm home are new to me and I am thriving! Because I am not leash trained and really enjoy spending time outside, a fence yard is required in my forever home.
I also like to follow my people around the house to keep track of what they are doing – I am curious about the activity and like to be near them. I like to be close and in the same room that they are in, but I am still learning to enjoy being petted. We are working on my dog skills, and I am practicing leash training and doing great with potty training, but still a work in progress. I also love toys, cozy spots like pillows and blankies and treats – yum!
Now that the weather is colder, I don’t get to spend as much time in the yard. While I wait for sunny summer days, I will dream of finding my forever home with green grass, comfy dog beds and people that will love me unconditionally. I can’t wait for us to meet!
Love, Laurie
