Hey… Elodie here…. I’m a Beaubull.  That means I have awesome traits from both an English Bulldog and a Beagle.  Just look at my sweet face!  I’m a young adult and I weigh about 60 pounds.

I’m proud to say I am a potty training champion (doing great on a routine).  I do quite well on a leash, so they say I don’t require a fenced in yard.  But, I do much better with potty training when I'm not on a leash, so a fenced yard would be awesome! And not having a fenced yard assumes you’ll take me on lots of walks though, so we both get our exercise!  I have to be honest and tell you that I don’t like the crate.  I bark when foster Mom puts me in there, but we have been working on it.  Because of that, shared walls would not be ideal.  But I am perfect in every other way!  Did I mention my sweet face and how cute I am?

I just love being part of a family.  I like all kinds of activities….  watching T.V., going on nature hikes, reading on the bed, napping at the park, and anything else my humans are up to.  I follow my humans around the house to make sure I don’t miss out on anything fun, and truth be told I just love being around them.  I also love water, creeks, puddles, downspouts… it’s all fun!

I enjoy stuffies, bones, antlers, and shoes (haha).  Really the shoes are just to fool foster Mom.  She says drop it when I pick one up and when I drop them she gives me something better.  Boy have I got her wrapped around my paw.

I recently met some cats and let me tell you, one swat on the nose and we were speaking the same language that I should respect them and let them do their thing - what weird little creatures.  But, I did well with them and we certainly are friends.  I like other dogs, preferably about my size or bigger, but I don’t need another animal in my forever home.  Just know that I’m going to bark a little bit when I’m left alone.

So, do I sound like the perfect dog for you?  My biggest requirement is that I get lots of love…. and that’s easy because I’m so sweet!  So fill out that application right now so that we can meet each other soon.  Love,  Elodie

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at if you have further questions.

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  and fill out a foster application.

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
