Hello, my name is Brody! I am a very gentle and loving adult male Boxer/Bulldog mix who is always searching for affection from people! I came up from a shelter down in Texas with wounds and Underdog really stepped in to help me out. In fact, relaxing with my people and chewing on everything from stuffy toys to raw hides are my most favorite pastimes!! I'm really glad to have a family that loves me now and cannot wait to find my Forever Home soon! I have not met any kids, but I am great with other dogs. As for cats, foster mom thinks…lets, see…how did she put it?? Oh yeah, I “seem almost too interested in cats” I’m not sure what that means but I like to think that I’d be ok with them although I’ve not yet been given full range to find out! Hee, hee!!
I need my new yard to be fenced because although I do well with the leash, I don’t go for many walks since I recently had surgery for a torn ACL (recovering nicely) and mom gives me a supplement called Glucosamine for my hip dysplasia. I also had some pesky heartworms when I came to MN, but those are gone now and I can finally run around the yard like I was always meant to. No worries though, I still love life and want to be a part of everything! I am a super smart boy who knows commands like “come”, “leave it”, “outside” and “go potty” and I am potty, and crate trained. I do, however, admit that I have a bit of anxiety and may bark if I’m left alone for too long. So, if foster mom’s going to be away for a while, she gives me a peanut butter-filled Kong to enjoy while I’m in the kennel! Just an FYI…regardless of how wonderful a PB-filled Kong may be, I still prefer my people to be home with me…I’m just sayin’!
Anyway, I am a very sweet guy who is simply looking for unconditional love in a home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me! I really hope that YOU will be my furever family because I just know that we are perfect for each other! Love, Brody.
ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
