Hello, my name is Holly. I am a smart and gorgeous young adult female Pit Bull/Lab mix who loves people, once I get to know them! I have not met any little people and I am fearful of strangers, but I do warm up quickly especially when treats are involved! Frankly, I’m a huge people-pleaser who is very treat motivated so I am told with exercise, consistency, and treats (ok, I added the ‘treats’ part) I will be the best-behaved dog my new family has ever had!

My foster family has been working on my confidence and my stranger danger fears, I tend to have a fear of men and unfamiliar people that approach me. We are also working on polite greetings with other dogs, I love to make friends and have the best time once we've become pals but that excitement can get the best of me and frustrate my potential buddies and myself so proper intros are a must. I am a beautiful work-in-progress and would love my forever family to commit to continuing dog training, enrichment activities and perhaps daycare a couple of times a week to keep my mind and body busy. Food I am currently thriving on is Nature’s Logic Distinction.

I’m told I “think” I’m a lap dog, that is wrong because I KNOW I’m a lap dog and I love to give hugs and kisses. That said, teaching me that I’m too big to jump up and give someone a hug, is important. I also enjoy getting pets, eating treats like Kongs with a little bit of peanut butter, (YUMMM), solving puzzle games, playing with other dogs my size or larger, and learning new things. Speaking of learning, I truly am quite brilliant in fact, I am told that I am “beyond smart” because I pick up on commands very quickly and I’m a great listener even when my people say “no”. I know commands like, “come”, “leave it”, “go potty”, and I learned “sit”, “down”, “wait”, “go find it" and “shake”. I even know where in the house I’m allowed to be and I am potty, leash (with the proper gear) and crate trained so you can clearly see that I am a prodigy! I can't forget to mention I like running around the yard with a soccer ball – perhaps you can play fetch with me when the weather gets warmer? I've heard I'm the fastest dog in town.

My current foster home has two resident cats. We took a little bit to understand each other and warm up but now me and the kitten are besties! We love to chase and surprise attack each other, it's one of our favorite pass times. The older cat here is a little bit grumpy so he doesn't let me play with him, but we've compromised and agreed to cuddle, I think he enjoys it more than me! Again, proper intros are important for me and these guys. I'm a big girl with a lot of love to give so for everyone's safety we like to take it slow!

Anyway, are YOU ready to welcome a beautiful 50lb lap dog into your life? I have an enormous heart that is overflowing with love that I dream of sharing with YOU! It’s been often said that I am a “dream dog” so if you are patient and promise to love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me then I think you and I are meant to share our lives together. I promise we will have the best adventures together!! Kisses and Hugs, Holly

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.
