Hello, my name is Ben. I am an incredibly handsome young adult male Lab who loves to run around a securely fenced yard playing chase with my canine buddies, frolic in the leaves, eat apple biscuits, play with my stuffed bear, chew on anything I’m not supposed to, and talk (bark) a lot! Hee, hee!! I have a wonderful smile too and when my people talk to me, I lovingly show it off with some happy butt wiggles. Hey, if you’ve got it…flaunt it is what I always say!!
I do my personal business outside, I know what ‘leave it’ and ‘outside’ mean, and I am crate trained but my body freezes when I’m on leash/harness which is another reason I need to have a fenced yard at my new home. I am always respectful of those whack-ya-in-the-face things you humans call ‘cats’ and I get along great with other dogs. I have not met any kids, so I'd do best in a home with older, respectful kids - or just adults who understand I'm still coming out of my shell. You see, I spent the first year of my life with a breeder and this is all new to me, but it's also so exciting! Cars make me a little nervous, but I'm getting used to car trips going to the vet and such. I know there are fun adventures out there, I just need someone patient to show me all about them. Although I am trying very hard to trust my people, I need to have a confident dog my size in my new home who will help me learn to trust humans. That said, I am making great strides every day with foster mom and have even invented a new game I like to call “Boop-Boop Ditch” where I will sneak up behind her, boop her with my nose then run away! Hee, hee!! It’s a lot of fun and truth be told, I think foster mom likes that game too!
Anyway, I have an enormous heart that is overflowing with love that I dream of sharing with a patient family who promises to shower me with unconditional love and NOT give up on me. Are you ready to welcome an amazing guy into your life? I’m so excited to start my new life and I really hope YOU will be my new family!! Love and Boops, Ben
Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.
