Hi there! My name is Jordy, and I am a tri-color adult Mini Australian Shepard! I am a curious, cautious and gentle guy who’s looking for a furever home! Here are some things you should know about me if you’re interested in becoming my new best friend.
Though I’m a bit shy, I adapt to new people quickly, and am a great companion to other animals (yes, including cats)! I like to take cues from my foster siblings for going outside and eating, and I’m very respectful towards them! I do need another dog in the home to help me with my confidence and routine. a buddy would be a great way for me to exercise in the fenced yard.
I am hoping my furever home has a fence as I am still working on leash training. I get distracted pretty easily while walking so for this reason, my foster prefers to put me on a short leash and keep me focused. As far as training goes, I am doing great with potty and crate training. My foster mom is great about keeping me on a routine (about a 6-hour time frame) to let me go outside. I do know the “wait” command, and am willing to learn some other commands, with food incentives, of course! When it comes to treats, I tend to take them very gently out of your hand, because I am a very respectful boy!
I’m not one to bark, but I do get nervous around commotion and loud noises. When I am adjusting to a new environment, I sometimes pace back and forth. Once I get settled in, though, I won’t feel uneasy! I’m also not really the kind of guy to play with toys. I prefer snuggles on the couch and lots of pets before bed! If you like to snuggle, give me some time and I’m your boy!
I might just be a small boy without a tail (we all have our quirks), but I am full of love! I want nothing more than to find a furever home that will offer lots of walks and cuddles. I hope you take me home soon!
Love, Jordy
